Celebrate Valentine’s Day
That’s the obvious one! Valentine’s Day is New York City’s biggest event in February, and you won’t be lacking for date options. Whether you love walking tours or charming restaurants, you’ll find plenty of places offering specials on this magical day: Grub Street, Thrillist and the world-famous Zagat are just a few classy restaurant offering deals on February 14th. Oh, and if you want to do something really special, how about renewing your vows at the mass ceremony Love in Times Square?
Fashion Week 2019
From February 8th to 16th, New York City plays host to the New Yok Fashion Week 2019, and showcases opulent runway shows attended by the poshest of editors and fashionistas. While you probably won’t be able to attend the heavy hitters (tickets to industry shows are only open to buyers and journalists), you should be able to get tickets to the public shows. They’re a ton of fun, with free beauty treatments, major exhibitions, and more fashion-related activities. Just make sure you’re dressed to the stars – you never know if your picture ends up inside a magazine!
Lunar New Year Parade and Festival
The Lunar New Year Parade commemorates the Chinese New Year, which is on February 5th, and continues on the 17th. Moving through Chinatown and Little Italy in Manhattan, it highlights Chinese traditions, and feature dragon costumes, incredible performances and mouthwatering food. It’s an event that’s not to be missed!
Commemorate President’s Day
President’s Day falls on February 17th, and New York City is a great place to celebrate it. There’s Fraunces Tavern Museum & Historic Pub, the place George Washington bid his officers farewell. You can also got to the site of Washington’s swearing-in as the very first President. Then greet the wax figures of Presidents Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama and Donald Trump at Madame Tussauds. Plus, you can visit Gramercy Park, which hosts Theodore Roosevelt’s birthplace.
