What to Do in New York City in April

New York City in April is an amazing time. Some say that the best time to visit New York City (NYC) is from April – June. And they have good reason for saying so!

In addition to the weather being brilliant, there are several events and festivals taking place that you can enjoy in this month. We’ve prepared a list of things you can do in NYC in April. Have a look!

Brooklyn Folk Festival

In April you can hear the fun tunes of the accordion and banjo in Brooklyn Heights. Did you know that the Brooklyn Folk Festival this year would be the 10th edition of the ultimate celebration of American Folk Music? That’s right! The festival has been around for a decade bringing together over 30 fantastic bands for a 3-day event full of performances, workshops and jam sessions.

Attend a Comedy Performance or a Concert

There are normally many concerts and performances lined up during this time of the year. This April, in particular, some of the artists who have scheduled a concert include Billy Joel, Snow Patrol and MUSE. Some comedic artists you can catch include Jerry Seinfeld and Richard Lewis. 

Take Part in the Easter Parade & Bonnet Festival

The Easter Parade is a fun-filled activity. Towards the end of April, NYC decorates itself with around 300 colorful Easter eggs laid throughout the city.

Go See Macy’s Flower Show

Spring brings with it loads of flowers and if you are a flower fanatic, you can go admire them by going to Macy’s Flower Show which runs during April at Macy’s Herald Square.

Tribeca Film Festival

This Film Festival each year is the highlight for Tribeca, the trendy neighborhood in NYC city. Robert De Niro’s Film festival attracts thousands of film fans every year to watch one or more of the various new films which are shown.

Taste of the Nation

On 17th April 2019, you can taste some of NYC’s greatest food, while donating to charity simultaneously by being a part of Taste of the Nation. This is a nationwide charity event which invites award-winning chefs to display their best meals. The proceeds of this event go to a charity named No Kids Hungry which aims to help end child hunger in the US.

NYC Rooftop Lounge Tour

This time around rooftop bars start to open up and the view of the lights of the skyline is definitely worth the watch from up there. Sipping cocktails under the starry NYC sky is a great way to spend time in April.

A Walk on the High Line

The High Line is a distinct public park set above the streets on an abandoned railway line. This green terrace in the middle of Manhattan is a great place to experience the beautiful April weather.
